Export Strategy: Avoiding anti-dumping problems

  • Anti-dumping and other trade defence instruments can easily disrupt your business on overseas markets.
  • Certain sectors are at more risk than others (textiles and clothing, chemicals, metals/steel etc).
  • Exporters can manage this risk and significantly reduce the likelihood of this type of export problem.
  • Strategies to a) avoid the risk of investigations and b) to minimise the impact of existing measures.
  • These services are aimed at exporters to the EU who want to avoid problems with EU anti-dumping and other trade defence instruments.
  • Also applicable to EU and other global exporters who face possible anti-dumping accusations in multiple jurisdictions. We have experience of many different countries' anti-dumping regimes.
  • For a free publication on avoiding anti-dumping problems click here (publication also available from Cliff Stevenson Consulting's sister company's website www.antidumpingpublishing.com).

Anti-Dumping Investigations

  • Cliff Stevenson Consulting provides extensive economic and consulting services to exporters involved in EU anti-dumping, anti-subsidy and safeguard investigations.
  • However, this is usually done through a law firm.  Over the years, Cliff has himself represented exporters in many anti-dumping investigations but is now concentrating on adding value to law firms output.  He works with many law firms by providing rigorous economic inputs alongside the legal work to ensure the best defence of exporters' interests and a zero or minimised level of anti-dumping duty.

Exporters AD Training

  • There is a lot that exporters can do by themselves to mitigate the risk of anti-dumping accusations affecting their business.
  • We have organised courses for exporters in 14 countries over the past decade.  We are very experienced at explaining the rules in an accessible way, always focusing on the key business and commercial aspects.
